Dr Veena Panda was born Veena Pani Mishra the eldest child of Chandrashekhar Mishra in Raigarh which was originally MP. She went to school in Raipur and completed her MBBS from Pandit Jawarhalal Nehru University in 1986. After graduation, she married gynaecologist Dr Jitendra Kumar Panda, eldest son of eminent gynaecologist Ahalya Devi who had a roaring practice in Cuttack since the 60’s. She moved to the UK after marriage where her husband had been practicing, to pursue her post graduation in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. She acquired skills over a span of 14 years to manage all planned and emergency cases. She obtained her MRCOG in 1996 from the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists based in London. Along the way, she was blessed with two sons who have also grown up to become doctors.
Dr Veena Panda returned to India and settled in Bhubaneswar in 2000. She was one of the first female laparoscopic gynaecologists of Bhubaneswar and developed a busy practice being the HOD of the Gynae department at Kalinga Hospital. In 2017 she joined AMRI Hospital as HOD.
She currently sees women from her IRC Village clinic, providing a private and friendly enviroment for those seeking a more personal touch with their gynaecologist. Her family of doctors are available to support her inorder to maintain the perfect balance in patient care.
